Railroad Club
Celebrates its 40th
Anniversary
 Welcome
to Elmhurst Model Railroad Club,
home of the Illinois Western
Railroad. We have both HO and
HOn3 layouts depicting a
nostalgic look at life as it was
in the Midwest in the 40's, 50's
and 60's.
Scenes vary from rolling
hillsides and farms to a large
steel mill. You can also
experience real life railroading
right outside our front door.
We are located just west of the
former Chicago and Northwestern
Proviso yard, now UP's busiest
mainline track. Trains pass by
at about 20 minute intervals.
You can safely watch trains both
day and night.
Layouts are only a part of the
club's total picture. Our club
constitution states:
"The purpose of the club
shall be to encourage the
building and operating of model
railroad layouts for members use
and for exhibition. A secondary
purpose shall be to encourage
friendship and to promote the
hobby of model railroading."
In addition, we regularly have
activities like club picnics,
auctions, parties, slide shows,
movie nights, video nights,
visits to and from other model
railroad clubs and fan trips.
